8 months!

Happy 8 Months Sugar Plum!

Here is what you have been up to this past month:

• You weigh 17 lbs 3 oz.
• You are wearing 6-9 month clothes
• You are in a size 3 diaper
• You got your 5th and 6th tooth this month.
• When you started crawling you were a little hesitant to crawl on the wood floor. You would crawl all over the carpet or rug but would stop and turn around when you got to the wood. Sometimes you would try to bear crawl on the wood or scoot on one knee and the other foot, it was too cute! Well this month you figured out the wood floor was not too bad and now you crawl everywhere!!!
• You love to play chase. It is so cute to see that you have figured out this game! She sit there and we say, "I'm gonna get you" in our silly kids voice and you get a big smile, giggle, and take out until we catch you! I could play this with you all day :)
• You love to come sit in my lap to play. You will grab a toy and then crawl over and turn around and sit in my lap and just play. I LOVE it ;)
• You LOVE ribbon and string...I have probably written about this before but it is an obsession ha! I even bring some ribbon to church, I know people are wondering why I give you ribbon but it really keeps you occupied. I just tell people it's never too early to teach you to floss ;
• You got sick this month for the first time. You have had a runny nose from teething, but this was your first real temperature :( I'd say we did pretty good making it all the way to 8 months without you getting sick! It was on a Sunday and you woke up with a temperature of 102! Besides the temperature we knew you weren't feeling good b/c you would rest your head on our shoulder and just lay there (You NEVER do this...to busy to cuddle most of the time). We felt so bad for you and just cuddled with you all day. The next day your fever was down and by the third day you seemed to be much better!
• You are curious about everything! When we are holding you and you see something you LEAN over or stretch to see what you spotted...it's adorable, especially when you see one of us :)
• I love watching you play. In the morning you sometimes play by yourself and you concentrate so much. We have all your toys on these bookcases and you love pulling all your books down on the shelf, digging through your canvas toy box, and when you find something you want to play with you just play. You love standing up and playing with your toy table top. You are really good at putting down the pop up animals (at first you would get your little fingers as you tried to push it down, but you learned quickly and now you do it really fast). I want to blog about your favorite toys :)
• Your hair is really growing....still looks brown!
• You still don't seems to mind all the hugs and kisses I give you throughout the day...kinda ;) Sometimes you fuss when daddy gives you kisses...I keep telling him it's his facial hair HAHA!! We love you so much Brooklyn!!!!

Riding in my Little Red Wagon

We have been having some beautiful weather lately so it was time to bust out B's little red wagon she got from Mimi for Christmas :) Lets just say she LOVED it! Looks like we will be taking lots of wagon rides in the near future :)

Taking Pictures

So picture taking has become a little more difficult lately...to say the least! HA! Now that my little button can crawl there is NO sitting still for a picture these days! I will put her down and she immediately starts coming towards the camera.

I don't have much luck either with her weekly picture. The other day I decided to settle for a "screaming" weekly picture. She just wants to flip all around or grab the sign and it makes her upset the more I try to pose her or not let her touch things! I finally gave up on trying to get her to be happy this week, and I also thought that I will probably look back at this picture and laugh (I kinda already do..hehe).

I think this was the 10th time I tried to flip her back over.

Another challenge is the monthly picture. I use to put the sign right in front of her but she would always grab it; I now tape the sign to her bed...BUT she knows it's back there ;)

I definitely don't feel like I am taking as many pictures as I did when she was younger :( Her moving around has not helped but I do take a lot of video!!! She is our precious little mover!!!

7 Months

Happy 7 Months Miss Brooklyn!

Here is what you have been up to lately:

• You weigh 16 lbs 5 oz
• You are wearing 6 month clothes.
• You are wearing size 3 diapers.
• For the first time we put you in a highchair at a restaurant! You did really well! Although if we give you a toy you chew on it for only a little while and then throw it on the ground.
• You also rode in the basket at Wal-Mart for the first time. I put the cover over the cart and strapped you in. You seemed to love the new view, but you don't like riding backwards. Pretty much the whole time you try to turn your body to face the other way....HA! You do LOVE going to the store and looking at EVERYTHING! You try to reach for everything too! Tons of people stopped to talk to us and everyone would say what a pretty baby you are :)
• You went on your first airplane trip this month and did great!
• When you get excited about something; a toy, the dog, or when mommy or daddy walk in the room, you kick your legs and shake your arms. We always can tell when you are excited!
• You are LOVING your jumparoo lately! You just jump and jump like crazy!
• Still no pacifier or thumb...I don't think you will take either EVER. It's kinda nice b/c we won't have to take either away :)
• You wake up about once in the night...sometimes twice, but you go right back to sleep which is such a blessing. BUT I am soooo sleepy in the mornings!
• You take 3 naps and usually they are around 1 hr to 2 hrs.
• At the end of the month your two top teeth cut! I took a few last pictures to remember your gummy smile...I bet you are going to look so cute with your front teeth! I was able to really tell you were teething this time around. You got a runny nose, with a little dry cough, and of course chewed on your fingers and everything else in sight!
• You are obsessed with tags. Anything that has a tag gets your attention. No need to buy you toys - just give you a few tags to play with.
• You are one BUSY girl! I say this constantly but you are!
• You started pushing yourself to a sitting position this month
• You stood up all by yourself
• You started crawling!!!!

This is why I now remove her bows when we get in the car.....I didn't take a picture but one day I found her asleep with the band completely over her eyes. Poor thing I had no clue how long it was like that!

Big Day!

Today was the BIG day!!!

Yep...we have a crawling in our house!

All I can say abut this week is CRAZINESS!! Brooklyn had a huge week from sitting, to standing, and now crawling!!! It's been a big week for momma too! I'm so excited for her but she could slow down just a little...hehe!

Congrats sweet Brooklyn on all your new milestones!!!

My little Brooklyn STOOD UP today!

Brooklyn recently learned to sit up on her own and so I decided to video tape it from the monitor. Yes....she was suppose to be napping but since she learned to sit up she plays for alittle while before falling asleep! At least she is not crying HA! Well low and behold she stood up for the first time....it was so neat to catch it on video!!! Guess it's time to lower the crib!

She is really working on crawling! Sometimes she pushing up and then lays down on her side and stretches forward and pushes up again. Sometimes she just gets up on her knees and rocks back and forth. Other times she will do the knee rock but if she sees something she wants she starts to do the "worm" so she can get to it quickly! It is so fascinating to see how a baby goes from not moving at all to crawling....I don't think it will be long before our little B takes off on her hands and knees :)

Florida

Brooklyn took her first flight ever this past week! We went to Tampa, Florida for my 10 year reunion (YES 10 YEARS!!! CRAZY!). We were super excited to see old friends, meet new ones, and of course look around Florida College and reminise about about all the fun times we had! Hard to believe that Brad and I met 9 years ago at this school! Lots has happened since then :)

I was soooo nervous about our little squirmy girl sitting for 2 1/2 hours on the flight. We decided to take her carseat on (maybe she would think we were in the car and she would fall asleep...ha!) and I had a bag packed full of things to keep her occupied (Grammy also hooked her up with a few items as well!).

Then FELL ASLEEP the rest of the way......woo hoo!!!

We arrived in Florida and everyone on the plane just ooed and aahed over her and told us what a good baby she was :)

One of the highlights of the trip was getting to stay with Aaron and Kristin Thompson and meet their lovely daughter Molly for the first time. Aaron went to school with Brad and I and Kristin was there a year later after I left. Molly was born two days before Brooklyn and from the beginning Kristin and I have been in non stop communication through email about EVERTYHING pertaining to our daughters! We describe each other as long lost best friends and these two precious girls brought us together :) We were so excited to meet their sweet girl and introduce Brooklyn to her new friend!

I tried and tired to put a video up of the 3 girls together but it would never work :( I'll keep trying..they are sooo cute!

The second day of the reunion was park day where everyone could bring their kids!

What a bunch!! We enjoyed getting to see two of my BFF's from college, Kayleen and Ashley, and their adorable kids! We attempted a picture; this was the best shot we could get...HAHAHA! What a memory :)

Family picture back on the Florida College Campus....kinda neat to think that the last time Brad and I were here we were just dating...now we are a little family :)
