Ultra Sound and 35 week Picture :)

Last Thursday we had out second ultra sound. We were excited to see what our baby girl looked like now...BUT....she was pretty squished in there and her face was not very visible. She was head down (all ready to go) which was great news, but her face was down and her hands were in the way so we really didn't get very good pictures. It was still just as wonderful to see her though, watch her heart beat, and see her "practice" breathing. Pretty AWESOME!

They estimated her weight to be 5 lbs 12 oz! It was pretty funny because my doctor had written down I was measuring small so my insurance would cover another ultra sound. When the tech saw her notes she said I had nothing to worry about! The baby was NOT small...in fact she was 80% in weight so they want me to do ANOTHER ultra sound in 4 weeks to make sure she is not going to be TOO big! YIKES! This has been a fear of mine all along! I left feeling pretty nervous. Fortunately, I have talked to quite a few people who reassured me that the estimations can be off and not to be too stressed that she might be a 9 or 10 pound baby! So for now I am trying not to think about it too much and I am praying that I will be able to deliver her without a cesarean (because of her size). But in the end we just want a healthy baby and momma so whatever needs to happen will be OK :)

35 weeks and "STILL" growing!

I laugh when I see this picture and remember thinking I was so huge....HAHA!
19 weeks!

Brooklyn's Lullaby....the Sweetest Gift!

At my shower I opened a gift from my brother Adam. I started crying right away when I saw what he had done! He had written and recorded a Lullaby for Brooklyn. It was the sweetest gift he could have possibly given her...and me :) We played it right away at the shower and there was hardly a dry eye in the house! I have played it for many people and every time I do she moves and moves in my tummy....I know she loves it already! He has an amazing talent and this is something that Brooklyn will treasure forever from her Uncle! I can't tell you how much this means to me Adam....Thank You!

A Surprise, A Shower, and Getting Ready!

Today we were "Showered" with love by all our sweet family and friends! It was a wonderful time and we felt so very blessed and loved. I am going to back track to yesterday when I got a wonderful surprise!

I knew my parents were coming down for the weekend and they were suppose to arrive yesterday afternoon. When they got here I saw them come in and was giving them a hug when I turned around and there was my SISTER!!! They had flown her in from CO to surprise me!!! I grabbed her and started bawling! I think she had to tell me to breath! This is the first time she has been to Texas :) She is planning to come in August after Brooklyn is born, but this was such a treat for both of us! Thank you mom and dad for this wonderful surprise!!

Saturday morning we headed over to Jenny's house for my shower! Everything was beautiful and I just want to thank my sweet hostesses: Jenny, Emily, Cheryl, Sommer, Lara, Carol, and Rebecca! It was fun seeing all the pink and I was overwhelmed by everyone who came and shared in our joy over this little girls arrival!

Here are a few pictures from the event:

Afterwards my good friend Jamie, her sweet little girl Jailyn, and her husband Blake came over. She is the queen of organizing and we quickly had everything laid out in piles ready to be put up! This was how the room looked as we were working.....HA!

All the bath stuff :) I have heard this will be one of my favorite times. Having her all cuddled up in a towel and smelling oh so good :)

Her books on a temporary book shelf

Here is Brooklyn's Closet.....I think she is set for a while ;)

Thank you Jamie and Andrea for all your help!!!

Soooo not only did my sister help me get organized she also cooked us meals to freeze! Did I tell you how much SHE ROCKS! She cooked some big casserols and then divided them up and we ended up with 14 meals!

She made the most of every second she was here helping us get ready for Miss B, but we did sneak in a trip to Kemah and enjoyed visiting! She is so excited to meet her niece :)

I was very glad to have my mom at the shower!! It has been nice to have them in Texas. I am going to write about her sweet gift later....another tear jerker:) Mimi is anxiously awaiting Brooklyn's arrival!

I have to add this picture of me and my Dad! I Love it! He is also very excited to meet his granddaughter! Can't wait :)

Wedding Anniversary and 33 week Pic!

Brad and I have our 6th anniversary coming up! It is June 26th :) Hard to believe it has been 6 years since we said "I DO!"...and hard to believe it is our last one as a family of TWO! We decided to celebrate one week early since we are have our baby shower :) the actual day of our anniversary. It could not have come at a better time, because I was really feeling down and just hurting this past week. We decided not to go far (just in case ;), and I really didn't feel like driving a long way) so Brad found a really nice hotel in Downtown Houston. It is called Hotel ZaZa....(wowza) HA! It was so pretty and our room had two balcony's. The first thing I did when I got there was a mani/pedi thanks to my hubby and then we headed for a nice dinner at the Cheesecake Factory! The next day we slept in, had breakfast in our room, and headed to drive around Houston. We stopped at The Crave and each got a cupcake (if you have not been there you MUST go...yum yum), walked around some, and then finish out our eating fest at The Melting Pot curtsey of a gift card :) Basically we relaxed, enjoyed each others company, and ATE all weekend which was just what I needed ;) Here are a few pics of the weekend:

We had to take a picture of the bathroom...HAHA!
The tub was inside the shower....pretty cool!

Breakfast Yum!

And finally here I am with Brooklyn, 33 weeks!

We pray that Brooklyn will always know that her mom and dad love each other and that we are committed to each other forever!

Happy 6th Honey! I look forward to so many more Wonderful Years!

(Brad played this song for me this weekend....so sweet!)

Happy Father's Day!!

I have talked so much about how wonderful a dad I know Brad is going to be, but I can hardly wait to see him with our little Brooklyn! Brad enjoyed a few gifts from me and her today :) They were simple but he loved them! Brad is not much of a thick book reader HA but I found this little book that is perfect for him! It is a culmination of tips and ideas about raising girls! If you remember, Brad was a little nervous when he found out we were having a girl, so I thought this would let him in on some of our secrets ;)

Some are funny:

" Know that while you may never understand her thing for dolls, you will buy her more of them than you can possibly imagine!"
"Be prepared to watch Walt Disney movies with her some 200 time. EACH!"
"Play catch with her. Even if the ball is pink and covered with glitter."

and others are more important:

"Bear in mind that from the very beginning your personality will shape her."
"Ask her about her day, every day. Share her wonder."
"When you get home from work, hold her as much as possible. This is for your benefit as much as hers."

I could go on and on with these! There are 8 section that cover a girls life...everything from The Wonder Years, The Mystery Years, Girls and Sports, Girls and Boys, and Girls and Spirituality!

The first page starts out like this:
1. Always be involved in her life.
2. Respect and honor her mom.
3. Treasure every moment with her.
4. Pray for her everyday.
5. Be her hero.

One reason I know Brad is going to be such a great dad and do these things listed here is because they are all basically lined out for us as parents in the Bible. That is his favorite book and he strives to live by it daily!

Happy Father's Day Brad!!!

Wedding weekend!

This week was super busy but loads of fun!

Brad's Aunt Denise got married in Kathy's backyard last Saturday! It was beautiful and we are just so happy for her and Ron! I had the pleasure of having our cousins and their cute babies stay with me. Matt and Jana Hall brought their two precious twin boys Spencer and Shepherd, and Deborah and Jamie came with their sweet boy Timothy. It worked out really well since Brad was at camp....my company kept me company :) They came Thursday through Sunday and I just loved having my kitchen filled with bottles and my living room filled with toys :) It was so fun to see the three boys just look at each other. Did I mention the twins are 5 months and Timothy is 6 months?! So CUTE!!! I LOVED getting to ask the mommies all kinds of questions and feeding and playing with them the best I could (my belly kinda got in the way sometime...hehe!) They were super understanding that I was 8 months pregnant and helped me tremendously with things around here and for the wedding! Also, we enjoyed hanging out with Kyle and Kelli (our other cousins) and Kelli was a big help too! Thanks so much guys!!!!

Congrats to Ron and Denise Kirkwood!

One of the twins after his bath....they tell me this will be one of my most favorite time. They are just all cuddly and smell sooooooo good :)

I had to put this on here....this video just cracks me up. Yes it has some adorable little boys in it, but us girls (the momma's, grandma's and me)...hahaha! Put us around some cute babies and we just get all giddy...HAHA!
As I was filming this I just kept thinking that it a few months there will be two more baby cousins being added to this bunch! It will be so neat to see them all together. Hopefully we can get a pictures of them all before they get too big!

Miss B's Furniture is HERE!

So if you made it through my LONG furniture post back in May you will know how excited I am to take this picture ;)

Yes! Her furniture has arrived! It is dark espresso (it looks black in these picture, but it's brown) which I LOVE. Her bedding has a little chocolate brown in it so it all just goes together nicely. I am so ready to start decorating, but I am still trying to figure out all of what I want to do. :-/ Also, we are waiting on the glider which should be in pretty soon...yea! It's kinda starting to come together!

Camp!

This week Brad went to camp! When we first found out we were expecting we didn't know what we would do about camp. I figured there was no way I would make it this year, but I hated to see Brad miss it. He LOVES it so much and I figured with me being 9 weeks away that it would be fine. John (the camp director) told us that Brad could leave anytime and not to worry so that made us feel better. I am so glad he is was able to go!

I did enjoy going up on Saturday and staying until Sunday though. I caught a ride with some friends both ways, so that was nice not to have to drive :) I saw all the other counselors....and Brooklyn was so nice and let many of them feel her moving around! It was fun to see their faces! I will miss it terribly; it was definitely a week out of my year that I looked forward too so much. Especially to share it with Brad was special. I was able to see the kids when they arrived which was neat! Some knew we were expecting (thanks to facebook) while other's didn't know and their faces were quite surprised when they saw me!

I was sad to leave on Sunday and didn't know how I would make it without Brad for the week...hehe! BUT it was so incredibly HOT and I was just exhausted after being there a day!

Here is Brad with our good friend Yvonne who was dropping off her son.
I didn't really get any good pictures it was too hot to think about pictures..HA!

Babies R Us.....

Well we started registering! Fun Fun! It is neat to see all the cute baby stuff and a little overwhelming at the same time. Brad said he enjoyed registering for Brooklyn more than when we registered for our wedding....he just said it was more fun HA!

I really wasn't sure what all to get or what were the best brands. I didn't want to get a bunch of things I would never use...I wanted to be practical and not wasteful. After talking to several mom's I realized a lot was just up to the child. Some children did better with this bottle, some loved the swing, but didn't like the bouncer, or some mom's never used certain items, while others raved about them! So we just did the best we could and I guess in the end she will let us know and we will do what works best for us!

One day I went back by myself to finish up and I finally CAVED! I was driving around looking for a place to park and saw this spot was open ;) The grocery store I shop at has these spots too, but I had yet to park in one. I just figured there was a mom out there who was farther along than me or was pregnant and had other kids and needed it more than I did! I just felt weird I guess, but after hitting my third trimester I said forget it and I parked HA!

It was very nice I must say ;)
