30 weeks!

Yay for 30 weeks! It is hard to believe I am in the last trimester and down to single digit weeks left. CRAZY! When I look back I feel so blessed to have had such a great pregnancy so far! *Knock on Wood* Don't get me wrong, I have had a few rough days, but I really can't complain. :)
Here I am at 30 weeks!
Every week I think there is no way my belly can get any bigger and the BOOM..there she is popping out even more! But I love it :)

So I have started to get the the shock and awe look when people ask me when I am due!
Their comments are always something like this:
  1. "Are you sure?!"
  2. "Are you sure there is not TWO in there?!"
  3. "Oh WOW!!"
  4. "I am so sorry.....you have the whole summer ahead of you!"
  5. "Oooh bad timing (referring to being pregnant in the summer)."
To which I reply or think to myself...
  1. I think so.
  2. Yep, I would be VERY surprised.....no sign on the ultra sound!
  3. I know..hehe!
  4. Ummm thanks for reminded me (but believe me I really didn't forget!).
  5. This one bothers me...I usually don't say much, but we wanted a child so badly that I didn't care if it was 100 degrees outside for ALL nine months, we weren't about to try and schedule when our baby would be due. We just feel blessed to be having a child! I will survive the summer....it is HOT, but it will be worth every drop of sweat in the end :)
Anyway, fortunately I have been very happy lately so I don't mind the shocked looks or comments ;) (except #5 is getting old)...hehe! And many people have such sweet things to say:
The other day I was leaving Wal-Mart and the greeter said," Have a great day Ma'am....and same to your baby on the way!" It made my day :) I just love it!

Here I am at 18 weeks for a little comparison!

Dr. Appt

We had an appointment on Tuesday! Everything looked great! We are now going to start going every 2 weeks...AHHHHH! Things are getting closer :)

She told us that next time we would have out last ultra sound, but Brad is going to be gone at camp so we will wait until the appointment after that. I was sad at first :( but then I was glad to wait. It will be closer to time and we will get a better idea of how much she weighs. That is really the only thing that concerns me right now. I really don't want to have a cesarean (b/c she is too big), but I a very willing to do whatever needs to happen in order for her to be delivered safe and healthy!

I tried to put a video up here of her heartbeat, but after the fifth attempt I gave up. Not sure what happened this time. So no pictures or videos :(

Painting is Finished :)

Here is Brooklyn's Room all painted!!!

Just a reminder of the before:

And After:

Ahhhhh this room just puts a big smile on my face!
The last part that I did was add some glazed stripes to the bottom half. They are very subtle (you can hardly even tell in these pictures) but added just the right touch :)

Now for the decorating to begin :).......

I found this on my back porch today!!!!

Is this not the cutest rug ever....and very soft I might add.
I think Brooklyn is going to love it :)

Just for giggles:
I had to add this picture....I didn't realize my belly was in the way when I took it, HAHA!

Hiccups & Baby Class

This morning I was laying in bed feeling her move and all of a sudden I felt this weird sensation! It was like little jerks that were rhythmic! I laid there for a while thinking...Ummm I know that is not me twitching....is it one of my organs?!? HA....then I realized Miss B had the hiccups! I figured that is what it was and so badly wished I could tell her how to get rid of them! Poor thing, it was pretty neat though. :)

Today we headed to the Baby Class (as I call it). We (Blake, Erica, Brad, and myself) all decided to take it together. We just toured the hospital and learned a little more about the whole delivery thing....YIKES! One funny thing that happened was at the beginning of class she asked us to line up in order of our due date. Erica was at the very end due August 19th and I was next, Aug 8th. The rest of the class was due in June and July. As I looked around I was very aware that I was as big if not bigger then some of the girls due in JUNE!!!! Brad made a comment about this and we all just laughed. Good thing I was in a laughing mood....hehe! It is crazy how different pregnant women look and carry their baby's. Oh well....I decided I am just going to love me some big baby belly right now...yay! :)

On the way home Brad said he forgot to take a picture. He wanted to get a picture of Erica and I under the labor and delivery sign at the hospital. I guess he is having a little pregnancy brain too....we are very forgetful these days!

Painting Day 2

So I am sure you are wondering where the "Hello Dolly" paint color is?!...HA (Probably not, but I am going to tell you). Just a touch of pink in a fun way was what I wanted. I was torn about what to do so I called my good friend Jenny up and she came over to brainstorm with me. This is what we came up with and I LOVE IT TO PIECES!!!!

The bedding has pink rick rack on it so I made a stencil of rick rack out of poster board.

Then I traced it on the wall covering the seam where the white and turquoise meet.

Next I painted it pink or "Hello Dolly" to finish it up :)

It was kinda funny because Brad set up some scaffolding for me so I would not have to climb up and down the ladder. I just sat up there and Brad would come in when I needed to be pushed to the next section. It was kinda funny because someone would call and ask what I was doing and I would say, "Oh Brad is just pushing me around." HAHA! Then the next day I called Kathy and asked if she would mind "Pushing me around today?!" She said sure....so for a few days I had some people pushing me around......in a good way, hehe! It worked out really well and I just love the way it turned out! What do you think? :)

I have one more step and the room will be all finished :)

Painting Day 1

Sweet Melissa.....

Friday a wonderful friend of mine Melissa Garner came to help me paint! I wish so bad I had taken a picture of us...ugh! Sometime my brain really doesn't work these days :( There is no way I could have done this without her and with Brad working I jumped on her offer to come! We spent the day painting the top wall shore house green and the bottom under that chair rail white. At first I was going to have beadboard put up, but I decided that the chair rail and white paint would still give the same effect, save some money, and be easier to change later. We also painted a white strip at the top under the crown molding. You will see why later!!! It was so nice not to have to climb the ladder! I know Melissa was worn out the next day from doing all the hard work, but she told me how much fun she had and we sure enjoyed visiting too! I love it so far and can hardly wait see it all done! Here are a few pics of what we did:

On Saturday Brad and another good friend of ours, Arlon, came and did some touching up of the chair rail and lights. I love Brad in this one....he is so happy!

Thanks Arlon for helping make B's room just right ;)

Furniture Drama....but with a happy ending :)

UGH.....
Note to self and all future mommy's: Look and order baby furniture ASAP....don't wait!

So we order B's furniture about a month after we found out she was a SHE! We thought we were leaving ourselves plenty of time, but once we started shopping we realized otherwise. Many of the sets that I loved were like 8, 10, even 12 weeks out! Too long for me! I had no idea! So we found a set that we liked well enough and the store manager said 2 weeks tops. The crib and hutch were already in, but the dresses was 2 weeks out. So we bought it and went home very excited! We were waiting to have everything delivered at the same time so we only had to pay one delivery fee.

About 4 weeks had gone by, which was OK for us because I started painting and figured it would be easier to paint with out the furniture in the room. I finally called to check on the dresser when I was almost done and to my surprise she said "Well it looks like it won't come in until Mid July sorry!" AHHHHH....what! How did it go from 2 weeks to 12 weeks! She could be here by then! AND I felt like they should have called early to let me know....ugh!

We didn't know what we were going to do. The manager said we could either:
  1. Come pick something else out....(which would most likely have to be ordered and we would be talking 8-12 weeks out anyway)
  2. Get a full refund (start shopping all over again...which most of the other stores we looked at were in the same time frame)
  3. Wait on the dresser and get free delivery....(but we found out that there was no guarantee that it would even be here in July so maybe August, September......who knows)
Side Note: I know in the end it wouldn't matter if her furniture was here or not. All that matters is that she is here safe, healthy, and happy! It was just a little frustrating because I want as much done and ready for her by the time she does get here (is that nesting??!!). I know some of you mommies understand that feeling ;-) Anyway, I understand this was not the end of the world, but I wasn't ready to give up...ha!

To make a long story short (sort of) I began looking on the internet and after several calls found out that the dresser is backordered everywhere due to the earthquake in Chili where it is made. It looked like it was going to be awhile and I prepared myself to not have it here in time.

Until.....

I found a store online that had one IN STOCK! It was the last store! I told them my story and as I was about to buy it and have it shipped here the kind lady gave the phone to the store manager and he said ." Ma'am I am going to be completely honest with you..." Uh oh!!!! I had know idea what he was going to say. "I personally know the owners of the store where you got your furniture from and I would not feel right selling you the dresser." WHAT!!!....but then he said that he would contact them and sell them the dresser for me to complete my order. YAYYYYYYYY! At this point after spending hours on line looking for other furniture, calling store after store, I really didn't care how I got the dresser or who I got it from so I was HAPPY! I was so grateful to this guy and it was very nice of him to not just sell it to me and take the money. His friends are blessed. A thank you card is in the works to him! He is out in CA and his webiste is www.goore's.com. Thank you Mr. Goore!

I received a call from the original store saying that he contacted them so within 2 weeks Miss B's furniture should arrive! Mission Accomplished...Yay! Whew....what a week that was for this pregnant momma!

Mother's Day

Today is Mother's Day and although our little lady is not in my arms yet I do feel like a momma :) I didn't expect much this Mother's Day, but it was fun to receive many Happy Mother's Day Wishes! People were so thoughtful at church and I also got a few phone calls/texts from friends. It was also wonderful waking up to hear Brad wish me a Happy Mother's Day and he surprise me with the most thoughtful gift ever!

Here is my sweet little package from him....

Two charms for my charm bracelet. A "B" for Brooklyn and a "Baby Girl" charm! He said he couldn't decided between the dangly "B' or this one with the sparkle, but he thought this one was prettier ;-) Just knowing he took his time in picking out just the right charm is so special to me!

The other side of the charm looks like this......SO CUTE!

He is just the best! He told me later that the lady helping him at the Brighton Store made him feel pretty good. She was pregnant too and kept telling him how impressed she was that he thought of this and what a great guy he was.....but I already knew that :) Thanks Honey!!!!

Happy Mother's Day Mom and Kathy!

Next year will be an incredible Mother's Day...
I will have my sweet daughter in my arms!

26 Week Appt.

Today at the doctors I had to do the glucose test....YUCK! I really didn't like the orange drink! It reminded me of McDonald's Hi-C Orange Drink but flat. I felt nauseous after, but hopefully everything will be good. Dr. Ball said if I didn't get a phone call then there was no problems! I go back in 3 weeks and then it will be time to go every 2...WOW!

Here I am at 26 weeks!
She is a growin' :)

Trip to Killeen

We went to see my parents this weekend in Killeen. It was a 4 hour drive which for this pregnant lady was long enough...HA! Fortunately, I have a sweet friend from church who is letting me borrow a special lumbar pillow. It helped a lot for my back pain! I would also try to get my feet on the dash to elevate them once in a while, but with my growing baby bump I was kinda cramped in this position so I couldn't stay like that for long ;)
Adam was in town from Colorado and got to see his pregnant sister for the first time and say hi to Brooklyn. It was great to see Uncle Adam! We ate at Cracker Barrel (I was CRAVING breakfast food all weekend) where my mom found the cutest dress for B. They were having 75% off there Easter clothes so we took advantage of that!

While we were there we went to a drive through Safari! We feed all these wild animals from our car which was kinda cool and gross at the same time...can we say HAND SANITIZER! It was hilarious because they just wanted FOOD and came right up to the car looking for something to eat! The camels were the worst and we witnessed them sticking there whole head and neck in peoples cars and come out with the entire bag of food Ha! Here are a few pics. I can't wait to bring B back here when she is older :)

Finally, I LOVE children's books and my mom gave me a book she had been saving for I don't know how long...waiting until I became pregnant. I love it! It is a Dr. Seuss Book that is suppose to be read while the baby is in Utero (as you can see from the cover). It is about all the places and characters the baby-to-be will meet in the world of Dr. Seuss; The Cat in the Hat, Sam-I-Am, Horton, and many more. I have been reading this to her lots!

The ending is my favorite......

"So now, as my voice
burble-urps in your ear--
with a bump-thumpy sound
that is not very clear--
the words I am saying
you hear in your heart,
and know that I wish you
the very best start.

It's a scrumptulous world
and it's ready to greet you.
And as for myself.....

well....
I can't wait to meet you!"
