Random

Here are just some random thoughts for the day.....

• I am loving my skin right now. My face has never been so clear and soft (as of right now)...woo hoo!
• I thought my hair would grow more, but I haven't really noticed any changes.
• Pillows are my new best friends. I have taken them all except one for my dear husband....HA!
• My Linea Nigra showed up this week. It is very light, but there.
• My belly button is looking odd these days.
• I have yet to get tired of people touching my belly. I love it! I say Brooklyn is just getting lots of lovin' :)
• I never have to question Brad if he thinks I am still pretty...he always beats me to it as he tells me daily how beautiful I am. *sigh :)*
• I am not nervous about labor...yet!
• I love it when strangers ask me when I am due or if it's a boy or girl. Not because of the attention but it cracks me up because I feel like...umm...excited or shocked that they noticed I guess. Like I think to myself..."I really must LOOK pregnant!" It is weird I know HA!
• Certain songs on the radio have a lot more meaning to us now. Brad will come home once in a while and tell me about a song he heard that made him get all teary eyed or just excited about our baby girl. I do the same thing :)
• I definitely can't do as much as I use too....this lady is slowing down. I am struggling cause there is so much I want to get done in a day but I just can't. I have been trying not to overdue it and Brad has been helping me with things, but it is hard for me to just sit while he is working around the house.
• I can't express in words how I feel about this sweet baby!
• .......and finally

100 days :)

We reached a milestone today!

WOW! I can't believe it!

It is really starting to hit me that she will be here before we know it! :)

Today my What to Expect App says...

• 14 weeks and 2 days left
• 25 weeks and 5 days along
• In my 2nd trimester
• She is 9.2 inches long and 2 lbs

Also, it said her eyes are beginning to open....I wonder what it looks like in there...HA!

I write about this all the time but I just love it! She is moving so much! I love not only feeling her kick but completely roll around! I know in the months ahead it is going to get a little cramped in there. I keep telling her to enjoy the room now ;)

Brooklyn's Nursery

Yesterday Brad and I headed to look for nursery furniture. We had gone a few weeks ago, but found out the pieces we liked were 10-14 weeks out. Yeah...not going to work HA! Come to find out that the furniture was made in Chile and because of the earthquake a lot of their stuff was damaged so production is behind. We kinda had to start over, but I think we have made up our minds :) Pictures to come soon!

Kathy came over today and helped me move everything out of Brooklyn's room. Brad and I decided to pick the smaller of the two rooms (babies don't need much room right?!) and it is closer to our room. It wasn't filled with much...just decorations that I still have left to hang around the house. It is NOW a clean slate ready to be filled with cute things and an even cuter baby girl!

This is her sink area...I will probably paint in there too.

Just so you know....

Tonight as we were driving home from church your daddy asked me what I am looking forward to the most....it was hard for me to pick just one and as I was thinking he said, "Do you want to know mine?" I said," Oh course!"and this is what he said...

"I can't wait until I get to hold her for the first time!! Just to be able to touch her and see her and talk to her face to face. Just to hold her and think she started out so tiny and is now in my arms will be just amazing! I am so looking forward to that day!"

Your daddy thinks the world of you and I couldn't agree with him more :) We love you precious B!

24 weeks

This week I am 24 weeks! According to the experts, Brooklyn is the size of an eggplant...and about 1.7 lbs. She is as tall as two juice boxes stacked on top of each other and almost as heavy as 4.....I need to go and buy some juice boxes :)

I had a doctors appointment last week which went great. Her heartbeat was 156 and I measured exactly 23 weeks! I will now be going every 3 weeks until week 30! Next time is the glucose test which I am dreading, but hopefully it will all turn out OK! We just love Dr. Ball. She is always so reassuring and relaxed (in a good way)! Here are a few pics.....

Quiet Moments

Brooklyn has been moving around so much and I think it is my favorite thing in the world! I love watching my belly move....I could watch it for hours! She especially likes to move at night and in the morning when I am in bed. A few of my mommy friends have told me how they love mornings when their kids come and crawl in bed with them and they just get to snuggle for a few minutes before they start the day. I have enjoy a few quite moments like this with Brooklyn. She wakes me up in the morning with her kicking and I just lay in bed talking to her and watching her move. All my worries melt away during this time and I just love this special time between the two of us!

I was able to catch a few kicks on video. This was not in the morning, but still just as special!

Here she is kicking on my right side...don't blink to much or you might miss it! She kinda stops near the end, but I don't know how to shorten the video.

(Warning: you are about to see a very white belly and just block out my southern drawl...HA)

This one I am laying on my side and if you watch the top you can see little waves! Again you might miss it if you blink!

I know I will be able to get better videos of her kicking as she gets bigger, but I just love these so much I had to put them on here! I think it will be neat when she sees these someday and says,"That is me in there!.......and "Mommy you sure do need a tan..hehe!"

Friends

I am blessed with some sweet friends.....

My friend Carol is a full time mommy but also works out of her house doing hair. When I went for my hair appointment we were just talking and I told her I was going to paint my toes when I got home since it is so hot and flip flop time! She looked at me like Good Luck! and ever so kindly offered to paint my toes! I think she understood how hard this would be for me ;) I jumped on the offer after rethinking this task I was going to attempt! Nothing like a great friend and a little PINK to make a girl feel special!!!

The Doctor...Dun Dun Dun Dun Dunnnnn :\

Tuesday I had an appointment with with my Gastroenterologist. I currently only see him 2-3 times a year just to check on things. Anyway, he is REALLY big on eating right and watching your weight! The last time I saw him was about a month after I found out I was pregnant.

The first thing he did when I got there was put me on the scale....ugh! He had set the little tab thing where I was the last time I was in and of course he kept having to move it up and up...yikes! At one point he stopped and looked at me and said," Wow we have been having a little fun!"

Me: (thinking) OK....I know I know the weight is coming on....

Dr: OK Lydia go into the room...we need to have a little chat!

Me: (thinking) Oh Boy I am in sooooo much trouble!

Dr: So I am a little concerned....you have put on ??? (my secret ;) ) pounds since I saw you last....What is happening?? Are you stressed?? Do you think we need some meal plans??

Me: (by now I am on the verge of tears....Dr. Ball has never mention I was gaining too much weight....I have always been more worried about it then she has) I've been trying to be good....it's just hard I am hungry all the time!

Dr: Well we need to talk about what to do...I am concerned. You are just having too much fun!

Me: (Pointing to my belly).....SHE is having too much fun! (So yes, I felt very guilty after I made this comment that I had blamed my precious baby! Blame in on anyone but ME right...HA!)

Very Long Pause from the doctor......

Dr: (Burst into laughter) OK...I totally FORGOT you are pregnant!!!!

Me: (thinking) UMMM....Did you not even LOOK at me when I walked in...HA! How can you miss this belly!!!!

He proceeded to tell me how sorry he was and that I was doing just fine with my weight and didn't need to worry. WHEW! We both laughed, although mine was not as loud as his, and all I can say is the last half of the visit was much better than the first :p!

One thing that struck me as I was leaving was the next time I see him I will have Brooklyn with me...WOW! :)

Easter Weekend

We had a fun Easter Weekend! Saturday Brad and I attended a little girls birthday party. We don't get invited to many (which I'm sure is abut to change), so it was really fun and most of the time I kept thinking about Brooklyn's future birthdays....yea!! One thing that I definitely noticed this weekend was the HEAT! Oh wow I was soooooo hot outside! After the party we walked around an outdoor mall waiting to meet my parents. It was crazy hot outside, I kept having to sit and sit and drink lots and lots of water......a little glimpse of what my summer is going to be like....YIKES! Once we met up with my parents we shopped around a little for nursery bedding :)

Sunday we all ate lunch at Mark and Kathy's and enjoyed visiting with family. Brooklyn's cousin Timothy was there! He is just the happiest baby and I can't say enough good things about his mommy Deborah. She is such a good mom and has been giving me lots of good advice. What I appreciate most about her is that when she gives advice it is always with the understanding that 'I will have to do what works for me', it may not always be what worked for her. That makes me feel good and she is definitely one I will turn to for help....Love you Cuz!

Grammy surprised her grandkids with an Easter present :).....did I call it or what! I knew some matching outfits for Brooklyn and Bryce were in the works...hehe! LOVE IT!!!

March Happenings

It seemed there was so much that happened in March I did not get to Blog about so here goes a quick recap....

Symptoms:

• Wow..the 2nd trimester has been WONDERFUL! I have felt great, pretty much the whole time up until this past week. My back is really starting to hurt!
• Weight Gain....Of Course! I wish I could say I am all belly, but I am growing everywhere...YIKES! I have had a few lovely people (I really do mean lovely...HA... no hard feelings) let me know my face looks a little fuller.....HeHe! Didn't really know what to say but I guess this is one of the only times you can say "Thank You!" when someonelets you know you are putting on weight ;) HAHA!
• I've been sleeping better than I have in years. I am trying to enjoy these restful night... I know they won't last forever ;)

Precious Moments:

• One of my very closest friends Jenny has a sweet little girl named Abbey (6 yrs). Abbey made Brooklyn something.....she was so excited to give it to her and painted it all by herself!!!

The next day Jenny told me that Abbey prayed for Brooklyn in her evening prayer...*tear, tear*!

• Weeks 17: Beginning of March I felt her move for the first time!
• Week 19: We found out our baby is a GIRL!
• Week 20: Half Way Mark.....Wow I could hardly believe I was half way done!
• March 30th: She finally let her daddy feel her!!!! He was never there during the day when she was kicking, or by the time he got his hand there she would not kick! That night I woke Brad up cause I could feel her really well! He felt her twice...yea!!!!
• March 31st: I saw my stomach move! CRAZY!!! Normally her kicks are really low and I can't see them over my belly, but this time she kicked right near my belly button and I saw it as clear as day! WOW!!!

Fun Stuff:

• We started looking for nursery furniture and bedding. Still deciding... but it is fun looking!

According to the experts she is 1 pound......Brooklyn is growing and growing!!!
